SENADA (Indonesia Competitiveness Development), financed by the US Agency for International Development (USAID), which supports and assists the business community across Indonesia, has carried out a two-week survey on prospects for export of country's garment in the US after the quota expiry for Chinese garments in December 2008.

The SENADA report reveals that in order to capture a bigger share in the world market, Indonesian garment manufacturers need to develop their productivity, quality and service.

Local garment manufacturers require skilled labour and modern machineries to face the cutthroat competition in the global arena.

This year Indonesian Government has allotted Rp 255 billion (US $246 million) for textile producers to purchase new machineries and equipments in terms of subsidies and low-interest loans.
