A trade delegation of Textile and Fashion Federation (TFF) of Singapore led by President Benny Pua met Industries Adviser Geetiara Safiya Choudhury at her secretariate office and requested for establishment of a special economic zone (SEZ) in Bangladesh for the Singaporean investors to enhance investment.

Various countries have invested in Bangladesh and Singapore is keen to join the league.

Sources divulge the possible sectors where Singapore would like to invest in areas like textiles, jute, furniture and Information and Communication Technology.

It was also informed that they would place a formal proposal in this regard after discussion with Bangladesh Export Processing Zone Authority (BEPZA) and Board of Investment (BOI).
