During May, export value of Chinese textile and clothing touched US $13.16 billion, with a growth rate of 17.8 percent as against previous month April.
This rise when compared past months shows a down slide, a result of increase in raw materials and labor cost, RMB appreciation, decrease of export rebate.
Domestic textiles' production in China has shown a steady increase. In May, Chinese yarn' output was 1.64 million tons, with a rise rate of 19.7 Percent. The domestic price of 32-count cotton yarn was 18507 RMB per ton, representing a decrease of 13 RMB.
Insiders observe that since consumption of textile and clothing products in domestic markets has increased, the industry has got a rapid boost.
