Textile output statistics in Jan-May

According to the latest data by China Textile Industry Association statistics center, from January to May 2007, the above-scale enterprises of China's textile industry has achieved around 9.3 million tons of Chemical fiber production, an increase of 17.91 percent over the same time last year.

Among them, production of viscose fiber accumulated about 6,86371 tons, a boost of 19.82 percent.

Synthetic fiber production totaled 8.5 million tons, showed a rise of 17.19 percent.

Within this total, acrylic fiber production amounted to 3,96673 tons, an increase of 14.07 percent.

Polyester fiber output accumulated at 7.3 million tons, a climb of 16.91 percent.

Manufacturing of Spandex fiber reached around 43,331 tons, with an increase of 22.15 percent.

Yarn output totaled over 7.4 million tons, an increase of 20.62 percent.

Cotton yarn, blended yarn and pure chemical fiber yarn all swelled significantly, total production reaching around 5.8 million tons, 1 million tons and 567,425 tons, up 21.83 percent, 14.04 percent, and 20.60 percent, respectively.

Fabrics accumulated an output of 18 billion meters, up 12.22 percent. Among them, cotton cloth production reached 10 billion meters, an increase of 14.87 percent.

Cotton blended cloth stood above 3.1 billion meters, a surge of 6.96 percent.

Ramie cloth production marked 44708956 meters, an increase of 34.63 percent.

Linen yield cumulative 44049060 meters, an increase of 24.79percent.

Silk totaled an output of 67754 tons, an increase of 9.00 percent.

Nonwovens reached an output 230062 tons, a drop of 2.86 percent.

Clothing achieved a yield of 7.18346 billion pieces, an increase of 14.53 percent. Of these, woven garment was 3.34297 billion pieces, an increase of 12.46 percent. Knitted apparel registered 3.8235 billion pieces, an increase of 16.40 percent.
