Dyestuff & organic pigment production grows

Dyestuff, organic pigment production reached around 882 tons in 2006, an increase of 10.6 percent on year, annual sales realized a total revenue of over 31 billion yuan, a rise of 6.7 percent, but the growth rate is lowered by 22 percent from last year.
Annual profit marked nearly 2 billion yuan, augmented by 3.2 percent, but represented 21 percent less growth rate than previous year. Major export-oriented enterprises improved significantly, while companies showing loss accounted for about eight percent.
National dyestuff yield recorded around 699 tons in 2006. Production mainly spreads in Zhejiang, Jiangsu provinces, and Tianjin municipality.
China's organic pigments production totaled to about 182 tons in 2006, giving a growth of 16.6 percent over the preceding year, registering seven percent high growth rate compared to previous year. Zhejiang, Jiangsu provinces and Shanghai municipality are the main producers.
China's imports and exports of dyestuff industry in 2006 maintained rapid growth. Total annual two-way trade of dyestuff reached nearly 319 tons, with a boost of 7.9 percent compared to year earlier.
Total imports and exports of organic pigments amounted to almost 173 tons, representing a mount of 18.5 percent a year.
Dyes and pigments exports earned around US $1.42 billion, swelling to 13.65 percent against the corresponding period of previous year.
