The Third International Uzbek Cotton Fair and the Fourth International Cotton and Textile Conference will be held on September 17-19, 2007 in Tashkent.
The Cotton Fair and the Conference are organized by the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan in cooperation with the International Cotton Advisory Committee and Cotton Outlook.
The executive director and the economist will represent the ICAC Secretariat at these events. The theme of the conference on Monday, September 17, is “World Cotton and Textile Market: Outlook and Vision for 2010”.
The conference will focus on world cotton demand and supply, cotton production and marketing in Uzbekistan, the world cotton textile market and developments in major cotton and textile producing countries.
The second and the third days of the event will be devoted to the Third International Uzbek Cotton Fair, and will provide participants an opportunity for negotiation and contract signing with the Uzbek companies for cotton from the 2007/08 and 2008/09 crops. It will also be possible to participate in auctions at the Uzbek Commodity Exchange.
The participants will have an opportunity to visit a cotton farm, a ginning mil, cotton terminal and a textile mill.
