Afghanistan exports have increased 13 percent in the second half compared to the records of last year. What remains the same is the gap between export and import.
While it imports goods of approximately $5 billion from US, it has been exporting products worth only $5 million every year.
Exports have risen from $101 million last year to $112 million in the second quarter of the present year. Credit goes to the Government that has been taking steps to remove all unnecessary duties on Afghanistan's exports.
Besides, modified laws pertaining to taxes and custom duties have also greatly contributed to the rising export percentage.
The exports of Afghanistan largely include food products and consumer goods like handicrafts, precious stones, minerals, leather and cotton.
