The Government of Slovkia has decided to enhance its trade ties with Ethiopia and has drafted an agreement on economic cooperation between the two countries.
According to the sources from the Slovak Economy Ministry, both the countries are likely to collaborate especially in the fields of engineering industry, chemical among others.
In a bid to fortify the bilateral trade Slovakia is planning to export items including rubber, plastics, chemical products and textiles to Ethiopia and import few agricultural commodities and smaller volume of textiles.
Statistics reveal that in 2006, the country imported merchandises worth SKK 46 million from Ethiopia. During the period between 2001 and 2006, mostly Slovakia's export contributed largely to the bilateral growth.
