Suominen announces sales results for Q4

Suominen's net sales and operating profit will improve over 2006. However, result after tax is estimated to be a loss. Earlier guidance was that result would be positive. The reason for revision is that the performance of the Wipes and Nonwovens business area in the fourth quarter will be weaker than expected.

In Wet Wipes, the increase in sales in the fourth quarter will not be as strong as previously estimated. In Nonwovens, operating costs will be higher than expected, because prices for raw materials and especially for viscose continue to rise.

Suominen Corporation is a company serving the consumer goods industry and retail trade chains. The main business areas are Wipes and Nonwovens, and Flexible Packaging.

Suominen Nonwovens develops and manufactures nonwoven roll goods for producers of wiping, hygiene and health care products.

Wiping product materials are used for personal hygiene, baby care, household and industrial applications. Hygiene product materials are used for incontinence products and women's hygiene products. Health care utilises nonwovens mainly in wound care applications.
