Polymer Group Inc announced price increases of 5 to 7 percent on select nonwovens roll goods used in medical and other applications, due to sustained high raw material costs.
Effective Jan. 1, 2008, the increases will vary by product and primarily apply to products with petroleum-based raw materials, including polyester and polypropylene.
“Raw material costs have significantly increased throughout 2007 and remain highly volatile," said Fernando Marin, senior director of PGI's global medical business unit. “These increases are necessary to continue offering the best technical products and services. PGI remains committed to making our global manufacturing operations as efficient as possible.”
The company also said prices on certain polypropylene-based products will be increased, depending on region.
