Output of PRGMEA Annual General Body Meeting

The Annual General Body Meeting of Pakistan Readymade Garments & Exporters Association (South Zone) was held on Tuesday 18th December 2007 in a local hotel.

Besides approving Audited Accounts and Annual Budget of the Association the approval of election of Chairman South Zone and members of the Central Managing Committee / Zonal Managing Committee was also made.

Mr. Shehzad Salim was elected unopposed as Chairman of PRGMEA Sindh and Balochistan Zone for the year 2007-08. The Annual General Body also confirmed the election of new members of the Central Managing committee and Zonal Managing Committee.

The ZMC members elected were Mr. Bilal Mulla, Mr. Javed Chinoy, Mr. Amir Amin, Mr. Sheikh Mohammad Shafiq and Mr. Javed Suleman. Members elected for the CMC were Mr. Bilal Mulla, Mr. Javed Chinoy, and Mr. Abdul Wahid Bandukda.

The outgoing Chairman Mr. Abdul Rahman in his annual report highlighted the following:
• The readymade garment sector progress during 2007
• Improvement of services provided to members, such as the processing time of R&D cases and Analysis-cards
• Issues related to R&D support claims, Sales tax refund and Customs
• Events held during the term including Expo Pakistan 07, Chinese Trade Delegation in Islamabad.
• Projects carried such as the SMOT scheme and study of Garment Markets
• He laid great stress on all out efforts by members to enter the middle age to elder ladies dresses for which Pakistan has large fabric resource, and the quality to be targeted is according to our skills and production facilities.
