Sri lanka will be holding two exhibitions simultaneously in Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH), Colombo, from November 6 to 8, 2008.

Both exhibitions will be organized by the Sri Lanka Apparel Institute and Lanka Exhibition and Conference Services Exhibition Centre. The Joint Apparel Association Forum (JAFF), the umbrella apparel industry representative body of Sri Lanka will be the chief supporter of the event.

While adressing a press meet, Chairman of Sri Lanka Apparel Institute, Professor Lakdas Fernando, conveyed that this year they are hosting Apparel Industry Suppliers Exhibition (AISEX) for the seventh time in 13 years and Fabric and Accessory Sourcing Exhibition (FASE) for the third time. This will be counted among the key efforts to make Colombo a focal point in the South Asian region.

Organizers are planning to forge links with professional bodies in India, Pakistan and Bangladesh to bag lot of buyers and dealers. As such Sri Lanka is becoming a preferred country among Indian fabric suppliers and dealers and it could easily attract and would pave the way to come and invest in the country.

Last year the fairs saw more than 10,000 visitors and this year a much larger number is anticipated. The Apparel Asia Conference will be held along with the event, which intends of attracting all apparel professionals in the South Asian region.
