Bilateral trade between China and Korea showed a remarkable growth in 2007 ensuring that economic ties are likely to strengthen in the future as well.
While China's exports to Korea saw a year on year increase of 25.4 percent, its imports from the latter also marked a rise by 15.9 percent.
On February 3, the five year anti-dumping charge levied by China, on polyester chips and fibre imports from Korea expired. This will further add to the growing trade relation between the two countries.
Anti-dumping investigation against korea, started on August 3, 2001 and temporary measures were taken by October 22, 2002. It was only in 2003, that China leveled five years of punitive anti-dumping tariffs ranging from 2 to 48 percent on polyester chips and fibre.
