The top executive at Institute for Supply Management (ISM) is now top officer at the International Federation of Purchasing and Supply Management (IFPSM). Effective January 1, 2008, ISM CEO Paul Novak, C.P.M., A.P.P., began a two-year term as IFPSM president. IFPSM is a collective of 43 organizations representing national and regional purchasing associations around the world.

Novak is in his 20th year with ISM and was named CEO in 2000. In that time, he has led the Institute in several initiatives including broadening its focus from purchasing into supply management. Novak has served on the IFPSM board for 10 years and says the next two years will be a continuation of the IFPSM mission.

“The thrust of IFPSM's efforts will continue to be supporting the member organizations and helping them better serve their members,” Novak says. “Within the IPFSM circle, we can reach approximately 200,000 professionals and facilitate the development and sharing of the practice of the profession.”
