Goodwill & Bon-Ton partner for Semi-Annual event

The Bon-Ton Stores Inc announced its semi-annual Goodwill Sale. During the sale between March 26 and April 7, customers who donate clean, gently-used clothing and home textiles at its stores will receive coupons toward the purchase of new merchandise. One coupon is given per item donated and all donations support local Goodwill Industries job training and career services.

Customers can drop off donations at all Bon-Ton stores or at participating Goodwill stores and donation centers and receive a 20 percent off apparel coupon with minimal exclusions for each donated item. The donated clothing and textiles will be sold in local Goodwill retail stores.

Revenues will help fund job training and other programs for people with disabilities, welfare recipients and job seekers. The popular retail trade-in promotion is in its 14th year. In 2007 alone, the semi-annual event generated more than 9 million pounds of donated merchandise. With those donations, Goodwill earned an estimated $12.5 million in revenues for Goodwill programs.
