China Interdye (Colorful Show) to take place at SIEC

The 2008 China International Dye Industry, Pigments and Textile Chemicals Exhibition (China Interdye 2008), the No.1 exhibition of the global dyestuff and chemical industry, is scheduled to be staged from Apr.15 to Apr.17, 2008 simultaneously at the Shanghai International Exhibition Center (Intex Shanghai) and Shanghaimart.

The organizers are China Dyestuff Industry Association, China Dyeing and Printing Association, Shanghai Sub-Council of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT Sub-Council), Shanghai Chamber of Commerce of China Chamber of International Commerce, Shanghai World Expo (Group) Co, Ltd, while the co-organizer is Shanghai International Exhibition Service Corp.

China Interdye 2008 has a floor space of 20,000 square meters and will attract 400 famous enterprises from home and abroad, covering 14 countries and areas, including U.S.A, Germany, France, India, Japan, ROK, Switzerland, U.K., Thailand, Singapore, Italy, China, Hong Kong SAR, and Taiwan Province.

Dyestuff products, such as textiles, food, light industry, coating, and ink play an important part in daily lives. As people's living standard rises, the domestic demand for dyestuff enhances its requirement in the variety and quality of dyestuff both in quantitative and qualitative terms.

After steady development over the past few years, China now ranks No. 1 as the producer, exporter, and consumer of dyestuff products.

In 2007, China's production of dyestuff and organic pigment totaled 953,200 tons, an increase of 8.1% compared to the previous year; China's import and export volume of dyestuff reached 351,400 tons, 10.09% higher than the previous year; national import and export of dyestuff valued 1,446,000,000 US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 20.3%; import and export of organic pigment reached a total volume of 192,700 tons, a hike of 11.45% than the previous year; the import and export volume of organic pigment scored 1,041,000,000 US dollars, registering a year-on-year increase of 26.03%.
