An Giang Province, located in the Southwestern part of the country, fetched a revenue of around US $148 million from export products, in the first quarter of 2008.
The data represented a year–on–year rise of 47 percent, of which, the figures in the month of March touched $63 million, showing a growth of 41 percent on a yearly basis.
During March, among the key export products from the region, textile and apparel sector earned $1.8 million by shipping around 660,000 units, to different countries, posting a boost of 13.79 and 5.88 percent in terms of value and volume, against similar month previous year.
Talking about imports, enterprises of the province spent around $24 million on purchases of raw material worth $3.5 million required for the production of textile and garment units.
