Apr '08
Some 200 shops near Naif area in Cabin market of Deira got engulfed in uncontrollable fire today morning at around 1.45 am.

Investigation reports show that the fire was caused due to electrical short-circuits in an air conditioning unit which was placed near a transformer.

Although no injuries have been reported so far, immense loss has been incurred to the owner of the shops which have now turned into ashes.

Shops devastated in the billowing flames were mainly owned by Indians and sold textiles, readymade garments, perfumes and toys.
