From manufacturers to retailers to brands to consumers, the textile industry is driven by converging needs for style, functionality and environmental friendliness. BASF will demonstrate textile finishing products that can bring special effects and functionality to apparel and home textiles while meeting these key needs at Material World 2008, April 8-10, at the Miami Beach Convention Center, Miami, Florida.
BASF will present its latest developments, including:
- marketing programs and quality labels for non-iron and easy care clothing and bed linens that identify high performance garments to consumers,
- a formaldehyde-free pigment printing system that helps customers meet regulatory standards and requirements regarding formaldehyde, and,
- new effects for denim materials designed to help customers meet current fashion trends.
“We deliver high quality, comfort and easy care through innovative effects and functionality, and help our customers meet the environmental standards,” said Barry Byrd, Value Chain Marketing Manager, BASF Corporation. “Consumer safety and environmental protection are our top priorities when developing new products.”
Visitors to the BASF exhibit will also be able to learn about the company's global alliance with Arch Chemicals Inc, Norwalk, Connecticut, to market freshness-enhancing finishing concepts for textiles, marketed under the Purista brand, that are used on treated consumer articles, such as shirts, fashion tops and bed linens.
