Textile sector aspires to acquire prominent place in Intl market

Since 2007, Indonesia started applying measures to accelerate the growth of the textile industry after looking at the rising demand in global market. The Government helped units to modernize and increase their production capacity.
As a result, textile export of nation increased to nearly US $10.03 billion in 2007 from $9.45 billion comapared to previous year. showing a rise of 6.1 percent. Available statistics show that Indonesian textile industry has been contributing an yearly revenue of $5 billion on a continuous basis. Experts anticipate a further growth in this sector can come through modernization in the production units.
The Indonesian Government aspires to take its textile exports to around $11.8 billion by the end of next year to become a prominent supplier of textile related products.
