In the first quarter of 2008, enterprises based in Vinh Phuc Province earned nearly US $97.6 million from exports, representing a year-on-year rise of 31 percent and accounting for 19.5 percent of the total target for this year.
Key products which were exported from the province include textile and garment, footwear and wooden items. Among all, textile and apparel made maximum contribution in terms of value and growth, boosting around 66.1 percent yearly.
According to experts, such strong growth in exports to US has risen due to abolishment of quota mechanism.
However, the exports of footwear suffered a decline of 12.4 percent, which resulted due to EU's anti-dumping levy.
