Fire embraced the towel manufacturing unit, in Thu Duc district of Ho Chi Minh City(HCMC), on April 15 and left the production unit comprising machinery, raw material and finished products completely damaged.
Fire gripped the unit and warehouse around 2.30 pm and soon firefighters were seen battling with soaring flames. It took firemen more than 5 strenuous hours to bring situation back to normal.
Although, no injury has been reported at the site, the losses are estimated around US $1.24 million.
The factory was a joint venture company of ASC Charwie and provided employment to nearly 500 people. The officials are not sure as to when the factory will start its operations again.
