Alessandro Teixeira, the new President of WAIPA

WAIPA's Consulting Committee is comprised of the most important multi-lateral entities linked to development and promotion of direct foreign investments: the World Bank's Foreign Investment Advisory Service; IEDC - International Economic Development Council; OECD - Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development; UNCTAD - United Nations Conference for Trade and Development and UNIDO - United Nations Industrial Development Organization.

Alessandro Teixeira has presided over Apex-Brasil since May 2007. He is from Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul and has a Bachelor's in Economic Science from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, a Master's in Latin American Economics from the University of São Paulo and a PhD in Technological and Industrial competitiveness, with an emphasis on Foreign Trade from the University of Sussex, England.

He also exercises the functions of Executive Secretary of the Joint Economic and Trade Committee (Brazil-UK) and coordinator of the CEO Forum (Brazil-USA) and he is a consultant at the National Bank of Economic and Social Development - BNDES and SEBRAE Nacional.
