A mattress factory in Morocco was swept over by fire on April 26 killing 55 people and wounding a dozen others around.
The third floor of the building was where the women sew and where the most number of deaths was caused.
A worker who managed to escape from the clutches of death reported that staircase and the elevator had been blocked and the only way out was by jumping down from a neighboring building.
Over 12 people have been seriously injured although the exact cause of the fire is yet to be discovered.
There were about 100 people present in the factory when the four storey building caught fire. It is believed that chemical products in the factory spread the fire more rapidly.
Some 80 Red Crescent rescuers joined an estimated 200 firefighters battling the blaze, which was tamped down within three hours but resurfaced again. It was after eight hours of continued flames that firefighters used a crane to hose down the smoking rubble.
