HIFA 2008, a grand carnival to celebrate fashion & culture

Harare International Festival of the Arts (HIFA), celebrates the creative genius of Zimbabwean and Southern African artists. During the fest, prominent as well as promising designers display there creations in Ethno-Design Fashion Week (EDFW), which is one of the popular events taking place here.
The festival began in a big way yesterday and will continue till May 4, wherein immensely talented performers will showcase their talent in front of art lovers of the nation.
Novell Zwangendaba, one of the main organizers of the show, has urged all the local designers to grab this rare chance for displaying their talent and make their mark in global fashion arena.
The show will usher fashion enthusiasts at HIFA 2008 to get a glimpse of awe-inspiring designs of domestic designers like Tendai Manuel, who will display his latest offerings under the label 'Sword' and Ester Mujuru, specializing in sculpture designs, will have her range of products on display in collaboration with Tawanda Zawanda of 'Limit X'.
The fashion treat will also provide opportunity to international designers as well as students who are taking courses related to fashion. Participants are eagerly waiting to catch all the attention and gather applauds for their exquisite garments that will surely set ramp on fire.
