Clothing & footwear new arrival brings strong growth in Sept

In September, higher prices were registered in clothing and footwear (by 8.9 percent), housing, water, miscellaneous goods and services (by 0.2 percent) and furnishing, household equipment and maintenance, and health (by 0.1 percent).
As in the previous years, in September the arrival of new Autumn-Winter line brought a stronger growth of prices in the group clothing and footwear. Prices of clothing were up by 8.8 percent and prices of footwear by 11.5 percent.
Prices of package holidays down In September lower prices were registered only in two groups: recreation and culture (by 3.1 percent) and alcoholic beverages and tobacco (by 0.3 percent).
Annual growth of prices again over 3 percent The recent rather powerful growth of prices resulted in a much higher annual growth, which is now 3.2 percent. However, the unfavourable price trends did not have impact on the 12-month average price growth, which remained at 2.7 percent.
