Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (Sabic), one of the largest petrochemicals company in the Middle East and worldwide number-four player in polyolefins, has declared a stop production at its Geleen plant located in the Netherlands.

In an exclusive interview with Fibre2fashion, the company officials from the Sabic Europe located in Sittard, Netherlands, informed that the facility that produces polypropylene (PP), was forced to bring to a halt to its production, on May 14, after a technical failure in one of the site's two lines. However, it is expected to restart by June 15.

Total production capacity for two plants of Geleen reaches near about 600,000 kilo tons per year.
