Sioen Coating Division grows by 4.2%

It is the combination of innovation and cost-effectiveness that guarantee the future growth of this division.
CHEMICALS DIVISION - In 2007 this division doubled in size. During 2008 the focus will be on:
• consolidating the acquisitions, including optimizing production sites by core activity and competencies;
• opening up new geographic markets with existing products.
INDUSTRIAL APPLICATIONS - The Industrial Applications companies process (mostly in-house produced) technical textiles into a number of finished and semi-finished products. Through various subsidiaries the Sioen Group is successfully active on a number of markets in the transport sector such as the production of curtains and tarpaulins for trucks, train wagons and containers.
We also supply the military market with truck and jeep covers (with or without printed camouflage patterns), camouflage netting, tents, etc. In addition we process all kinds of technical textiles for industrial markets, producing tent kadors and inflatable silos, cutting airbags and manufacturing needlefelt and filters.
In this division it has become necessary to reposition the transportation department (truck tarpaulin production) in particular. The necessary decisions have been taken to achieve this.
OUTLOOK - Technicity, innovation and R&D remain the constants throughout our different divisions. Sioen Industries is absolutely convinced that these are the correct ingredients for further profitable growth.
