Samuda Chemical Complex Ltd, a manufacturer of industrial chemical aims to expand its production capacity to become the leading local producer of hydrogen peroxide which is used for bleaching and cleaning in textile dyeing industries.
The company plans to become an export oriented unit but only after meeting the domestic demand for the commodity.
Sources informed Fibre2fashion that present production capacity of the company is pegged at 35 tons of hydrogen peroxide per day from its single unit. However, the establishment of two additional units with capacity of 70 tons per day is underway.
While the total market demand for hydrogen peroxide is 35,000 tons, Samuda along with another local company caters to only 20,000 tons.
The remaining 15,000 is imported, but with the commencement of the two new units, Samuda will become the largest producer of the chemical having a production capacity of 30, 000 tons a day.
A memorandum of understanding has already been signed by the company with Nuberg Engineering Ltd for installation of two new hydrogen peroxide units using Swedish technology.
