A recently released report from the Ministry of Industry and Trade shows that the country imported huge quantity of fabrics worth nearly US $900.307 million, for local production during the first quarter 2008.
Among the supplier countries, China stood at the top, by providing fabrics worth $278.62 million, accounting for around 30.9 percent of total imports of Vietnam.
The country expended $194.86 million and $183.5 million for purchasing fabrics from neighbouring countries, Korea and Taiwan respectively.
