A recent release of statistics by Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) shows that the exports of the country to Japan in the first four months of 2008 reached US $2.7 billion marking an increase of 68 percent compared to the previous year.
For the month of April alone, the turn over surged by 25.4 percent compared to the previous month standing at $764 million, up by 92 percent than the same period of 2007.
Crude oil ranked first in the list of highest exported products generating revenue worth $878.4 million during January to April period. Footwear exports also brought in considerable income to Vietnam.
Textile and garment products ranked second in the list with exports worth $67.6 million in April alone and an average of $243 million in the first four months of this year.
