Textillery Weavers expands bamboo collection

More and more customers are finding ways to incorporate eco-friendly products and designs into their lifestyles as well as their living spaces.

In response, Textillery continues to add new designs and colors to its popular collection of "green" throws crafted from sustainable bamboo yarns, including a new lilac color tone and pinstripe designs.

These new designs along with countless others will be on view July 17-23, 2008 during the Chicago Gift Show in the Diane Baker & Associate Showroom, no 13-417; July 28-August 1, 2008 during the Las Vegas Market at the World Market Center in Building C, Space C-0369 and August 16-21, 2008 during the New York International Gift Fair in the Accent on Design - Booth no 4121.

"Bamboo yarn is a wonderful and versatile medium to work with," explains Judith Rose, head designer, Textillery Weavers.

"It's light and strong, incredibly soft and able to take a variety of dye colors quite well. So it has provided the perfect resource to create a lovely collection of plush new designs in colors that certainly respond to design directions.

Most importantly it's one of the most sustainable textile fibers on the market, which allows us to respond to increased customer demand for environmentally conscious design while also contributing to the corporate responsibility goals we've set for our own company."

Using a boucle weave, Rose has blended 85% bamboo yarn with 15% cotton yarn to create the warm and rich designs in the new Bamboo Collection.

Expanding the collection's color spectrum a new Lilac tone joins eight other soft color tones, including natural, cashew, spa blue, Dijon Gold, paprika red, light tobacco brown and dark Kelley green.

In addition, new pinstripe patterns bring two colors together to offer a rich look of depth and texture. Each throw also comes with a 2" fringe.

Bamboo is a natural textile made from the pulp of the bamboo grass. Since it is fast growing, it does not require the harsh chemicals that other materials might call for.

Without these pesticides and herbicides, the plantations can be kept organic and replanted yearly, which make it a renewable resource that is able to protect the environment.
