Overall growth in the textile sector has been reasonably satisfactory during January-June period this year, revealed the State Institute of Statistics of Turkey.
Apparel, clothing and knitted grew US $3250 million compared to $3069 million, last year. But, the share of export percentage overall went down 9.3 percent against 10.6 percent in 2004.
In case of clothing and accessories including non-knits, the sector showed rise at $2404 million against $2121 million in 2004, during January-June period.
However, share in total export of the country for textile products has considerably dipped and should be a cause for concern to all since the post MFA era.
