Dr Seshadri Ramkumar bags International Award at PFT

Dr. Seshadri Ramkumar who supervises the Nonwovens and Advanced Materials Laboratory at Texas Tech University, USA and Co-Chairman, INDA-India committee USA has been playing an important role for over the past 5 years for the promotion, growth and international linkages in technical textiles in India. His enthusiasm and tireless efforts were recently recognized at the International Conference on “Performance Wear Functional Textiles –PFT 2008“, July 24-25, 2008 conducted at PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore, India.

Technical textiles is the growing sector within the textile field all over the world. More importantly, this sector receives lot of attention in India.

Dr Seshadri Ramkumar was awarded the “Technical Textiles Accomplishment Award” for his nonwovens research and promotion of technical textiles field. The award was presented by Mr. G. Rangaswamy, Chief Patron, “Performance Wear and Functional Textiles conference” and Managing Trustee, PSG College of Technology in the inaugural function of PFT 2008 on July 24, 2008.

Dr. Seshadri Ramkumar and his associate has recently released a very useful report on growth of technical textile which is reports the growth to be 13.3% p.a.
