Sandugo trade fair sets ambitious revenue targets

One of the long standing annual provincial trade fairs, Sandugo Product Showcase, commenced this week at the Island City Mall and organizers are optimistic about generating more than P26 million that it garnered last year.

Although, the present regional economic crisis may not help the fair achieve the ambitious figure, exhibitors still have hopes that the fair's track record may work wonders for accomplishing the targeted sale.

The Department of Trade and Industry has made copious efforts to polish the creativity of traditional craftsmen who have displayed their products at the fair, since its inception 20 years back.

The exhibition throws open a plethora of quality products including fashion accessories, mats, home decors, toys, handicrafts etc.

Local manufacturers have realized that that would need to shift their focus in enhancing product designs if they had to compete with China at the global level.

Craftsmen have, therefore, experimented with product designs by experimenting with a fusion of local designs using an array of available raw materials. This is bound to open up a bright prospect for manufacturers, helping them to become more competitive in the international arena.
