Jo-Ann Stores Inc reported that net sales for the second quarter ended August 2, 2008, increased 3.7% to $403.0 million from $388.5 million in the prior year. Same-store sales increased 3.3% versus a same-store sales increase of 7.0% last year.
Net sales for the six-month period ended August 2, 2008 were $849.1 million versus $812.7 million for the same period in the prior year. Year-to-date same-store sales increased 3.9% versus a same-store sales increase of 4.2% for the same period last year.
Jo-Ann Stores Inc, the leading national fabric and craft retailer with locations in 47 states, operates 201 large-format stores and 567 small-format stores.
