Industrial production rose 6.2% in June compared to June 2007. Higher production in manufacturing by 7.2% and 1.9% decrease in mining and quarrying and also in electricity. gas and water supply influenced the development.
The highest year-on-year rise in manufacturing was reached in manufacture of electrical and optical equipment (20.4%).
Production also rose in manufacture of transport equipment 15%in manufacture of rubber and plastic products 14.3% in manufacture of chemicals, chemical products and man-made fibres 10.3% in manufacture of pulp, paper and paper products, publishing and printing 5.7% in manufacture of other non-metallic mineral products 4.9% in manufacture of machinery and equipment n.e.c. 3.5% in manufacture of metal and metal products 2.5%.
Production decreased in manufacture of leather and leather products 22% in manufacture of wood and wood products 11.2% in manufacture of textiles and textile products 9.6% in manufacture of coke and refined products 2.8 % in manufacture n.e.c. 2.2% and in manufacture of food products. beverages and tobacco 0.8%.
The development in terms of the purpose of final use was influenced by higher production of durable consumer goods by 31.4% investment goods by 8.6% production of intermediate goods by 3.8% production of nondurable consumer goods by 2% and by 2.5 % decrease in production related to energy.
Over the first half. production of industry rose year-on-year 6.7%; including 7.3% in manufacturing, 2.6% in electricity, gas and water supply and 2.1% in mining and quarrying.
Production of investment goods rose most rapidly 14.5% in terms of the purpose of final use. Production of durable consumer goods increased 11.5%, non-durable consumer goods 4.1%, production of intermediate goods 1.8 % and production related to energy 0.7%.
