Unifi, a popular American fancy yarn manufacturer, located in Greensboro, North Carolina, USA, has announced setting up of its branch in China. The plan was initiated in June and aims at serving the Chinese customers.
The Chinese arm of the company will be known as 'UTSC' and will be located in Suzhou City. This branch will direct its attention to developing and selling of high value-added yarn as well as supplying services in technical spheres.
UTSC will cooperate with the downstream textile enterprises and will supervise their production, helping them to develop new products. Besides, it will also work in coordination with some Chinese manufacturers in order to meet their growing demand of yarns.
However, Unifi will control the intellectual property rights of the manufacturers' brands and oversee their production in order to ensure the quality and technical standards of yarns.
While throwing light on the profitability of this establishment, Mr Bill Jasper, CEO of Unifi asserted that Chinese demand on the high value-added yarns is likely to go up continuously at a rate of 10 percent annually. This implies that setting up of a branch in China is sure to contribute towards a positive growth of the company.
