Positive scenario of textile & garment sector for H1

The month of June had been good for Vietnam in terms of exports as in this month foreign earnings reached nearly US $6.431 billion. Out of this, around $865 million can be attributed to export of textile and garment sector. It accounted to 13.5 percent.
In first half of 2008, industry gained $4.16percent, giving rise by 19.3 percent over same period last year but just accounting for 44 percent of whole year target.
On the other hand, imports of textile and garment sector saw a sharp rise. The country imported items like cotton for $222.9 million, up 63.5 percent; yarn at $397.8 million, up 14.07 percent. The country expended $2.22 billion for fabric giving rise at 16.7 percent.
