China and Indonesia have been considerable strong trade partners since past several years. While China exports textile products, among others, to Indonesia, imports from Indonesia mainly includes oil, natural gas, and other by-products.
The establishment of China - ASEAN Free Trade Zone (FTZ) in 2010, is expected to provide an impetus to the bilateral trade between the countries and is expected to strengthen further. Some analysts estimated that the trade value between China and Indonesia for 2008 may touch around US $30 billion.
Besides, several Chinese enterprises are planning to set up factories in Indonesia after the FTZ is formed.
Indonesian experts say that since purchasing power of locals in this country is not very good, high end products had a very small market share. On the other hand China made products are very popular in the market since they are sensibly priced.
