GAIL receives highest number of Safety Awards from IOE

GAIL won six safety awards for innovation- the highest by any company -at the Safety Convention organised by the Institution of Engineers (IOE) in New Delhi. The awards were presented by Shri D P Agarwal, Chairman, Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).
Shri A K Purwaha, Director (Business Development), GAIL along with Shri D K Purwar, Executive Director (Operations and Maintenance) received the award.
GAIL (India) Limited has won the Safety Innovation Award 2008 for excellence in innovative safety measures for its various units (Agartala, Vaghodia, Gandhar, Nasirabad, Pata, Vijaipur and Hazira).
This is the highest number of units of any company receiving this prestigious award from Institution of Engineers in a year.
GAIL attaches great importance to Safety, Health and Environment in its plants, pipeline systems and work centres as also in the community and its work environment.
GAIL has always been appreciated nationally and internationally for safety, health and environment measures undertaken by it in the operations.
The Company follows the guidelines and stipulations issued by the concerned Indian Statutory Agencies and Regulatory Bodies like the Central Pollution Control Board and the State Pollution Control Boards with regards to environment.
GAIL has received the prestigious ISO-14001 certification for adherence to world-class environment safety standards for its LPG plants at Vaghodia and Vijaipur and the HVJ compressor station at Vijaipur.
GAIL confirms to the most stringent safety regulations and the fact is well exemplified by a number of Safety Awards won by the Company during the past years.
