Commerce and Industry Bureau of Shanghai city recently conducted a spot-check on 77 batches of sports clothes and footwear.
It was found that overall qualifying rate stood at around 86 percent. While qualifying rate of 40 batches of sports clothes was 77.5 percent that of 37 batches of sports shoes was about 94.5 percent.
Major problems were found in colour fastness like that in lecoq sportif brand's round collar T-shirt.
Some products such as Columbia sportswear brand's trousers were found with high PH content.
As for sport-shoes, some products like Nikko shoes were not up to the mark on flexibility resistance.
Experts say such negligence by such big brands was not acceptable, especially in regards to product quality standard. Companies need to pay more attention to standards and avoid unnecessary hassles in future.
