According to the Customs Statistics, exports of button products in the first half of 2008 reached almost 27 million kilograms (kgs), showcasing a year-on-year increase of 29.86 percent.
From the total, shipments in the second quarter was nearly 15 million kgs, showcasing a significant hike of 29.89 percent when compared to previous quarter.
China earned around US $156 million of foreign currency in the first half of this year from exports, which translates in to an annual rise of 35.42 percent. Of which, shipments in the second quarter touched nearly $91 million, up by 39.32 percent when compared to previous quarter.
The average price of button was almost $5.69 per kg in the first six months of 2008, up by 4.28 percent when compared to same time of last year, which was around $5.45 per kg.
