Changshu initiates direct release system for exporters

The government of Changshu city, Jiangsu province, has recently taken up the initiative of carrying out a direct release system for the benefit of exporters from the region.

The system works on the lines of a green channel at an international airport. On a trial basis, the system has been initiated first with the carpet industry. Officials of the local government themselves went around to the units of the carpet manufacturers and exporters and explained the system to them.

It was also an exercise by the officials to identify honest and trust worthy carpet units from amongst these units for the trial. Once the local inspection and quarantine officials have checked the contents and sealed the containers, the carpets can now quickly go through customs without having to pass through the cumbersome procedures.

It greatly shortens the inspection procedure, quickens the clearance of export goods, and lightens the burden of export enterprises.
