Recently, Philippines announced that their delegation will visit Vietnam from October 6 to 9, 2008, to explore investment opportunities and seek partners in the country.
The visit is jointly organized by the Vietnam Trade Mission in the Philippines, the Philippine Industry and Trade Ministry and the Ho Chi Minh City Trade Promotion Department Office.
In 2007, Vietnam's exports turnover to the Philippines was US $1 billion and expected to reach $1.64 billion by 2010. Vietnam's key products exported to the Philippines include textile and garment, footwear and so on. Meanwhile, Vietnam imported fertilizer and machines from the Philippines.
While in Vietnam, the Philippine entrepreneurs will meet representatives from local businesses on October 7. They are set to visit a number of for-export goods processing establishments in HCM City and the Ho Chi Minh City International Furniture and Handicrafts Fair.
