Taiwan's Formosa Petrochemical Corp may delay the restart of its 1.2 million tonne per year naphtha cracker.
Fibre2fashion spoke to Mr K.Y. Lin spokesperson of Formosa Petrochemical Corp, who said “Main reason for the delay in restarting is due to slow down in demand by downstream product companies.
We will first have a discussion with our customers on how much they need from us in near future and we will accordingly restart production.”
However he also confirmed that they will not run the plant at 100 percent production capacity and it will depend on the over all requirement from their customers.
The cracker was initially expected to resume operation on 18th October.
