MANN+HUMMEL, development partner and series supplier to the international automotive and mechanical engineering industry, continues on its growth curve in Asia.
By the end of the year it will have its own representative offices in Indonesia, Taiwan, Vietnam, Malaysia and in the Philippines. Until now, these markets have been served by MANN+HUMMEL Singapore.
“Asia is a strategically important growth market for us,” says Dr Dieter Seipler, CEO of the MANN+HUMMEL Group. “It is our aim to be one of the top five suppliers in Asia for our industry.
In order to achieve this, we are pursuing our recent business activities in China and Korea by expanding into other Asian markets with our own offices.
Establishing these new representative offices is a loud signal to our local customers that we are taking the direction of customer orientation and customer loyalty.”
It was only in August that the filter specialist completed the 100% takeover of its Korean joint venture and announced the construction of its third production plant in China. Further Asian locations of the MANN+HUMMEL Group can be found in India, Japan, Singapore and Thailand.
The five new representative offices highlight the continuous advances of the MANN+HUMMEL Group's Asian operations which have expanded their manufacturing sites in China and India as export bases for further Asian markets.
The focus of the new offices will be the industrial filter sector, both in the OE market and in the aftermarket. The expanding economies of Southeast Asia generate a high demand for machinery and equipment.
For example, infrastructure and building projects are instigating a rising demand for construction machinery and compressors, which are the principle applications of the MANN+HUMMEL industrial filters business unit's products. Furthermore, the representative offices will advise automotive aftermarket customers.
Mr. William Ng, Managing Director of MANN+HUMMEL FILTER TECHNOLOGY (S.E.A.) PTE LTD, headquartered in Singapore, will oversee the new Southeast Asian offices, as well as the office that was set up in Thailand in 2006. In 1994, MANN+HUMMEL founded the group's first Asian subsidiary – in Singapore.
