This efficient, economical solution enables even large volumes of data to be transferred securely, prevents input errors, and reduces setting-up times. 'For exceptional success in developing innovative machines, whose efficiency gives customers worldwide a competitive advantage,' are the words on the certificate that is awarded for the innovation prize.

This accolade also acknowledges KARL MAYER's modern service network and the ability of the company to manufacture in its tried-and-tested production location in Germany.

During his introductory speech at the prize-giving ceremony on 24 September, the chairman of the IVGT's Technical Weaving Committee, Roland Stelzer, acknowledged the commitment of the company in taking over the failing company, Malimo Maschinenbau Chemnitz, in 1992 and also referred to the continuing future potential of this manufacturer.

'Now that KARL MAYER is operating the biggest and most modern research and development department in the textile machine building sector, our users can count on the company continuing to find optimum solutions in the future as well,' he said.

This was the reason why the innovation prize presented on 24 September was awarded for the first time for overall achievement as a whole, rather than for a single development, as in the past.

The certificate was presented jointly by Roland Stelzer and Petra Gottwald, the editor-in-chief at the Deutscher Fachverlag at a ceremony held at KARL MAYER. This prize-winning company had invited roughly 50 clients and partners to join in the celebrations to mark its success and to show them its latest developments.

The managing director, Herr Fritz P. Mayer, welcomed the guests and, together with Friedrich Maletschek, the head of the division, gave thanks for the prize, which was an annual subscription to three technical trade journals published by the Deutscher Fachverlag for the R & D department.
