These issues were be examined by Dr Neil Forrester during his visit to Pakistan on October 14. Trained as an entomologist, Dr Forrester has vast experience of resistance management for synthetic insecticides and Bt cotton.
Mr Muhammad Ahsan Rana was the Pakistani counterpart in carrying out this assignment. Mr Rana has studied law, economics and sociology, and is presently a PhD candidate at The University of Melbourne. He is working on the political economy of agricultural biotechnology and is particularly interested in the policy making process concerning Bt cotton in Pakistan.
