Runway Productions, SSAFW's in-house team, is producing a show where 100 models will strutt their stuff down a 1km runway, showcasing garments available from Sandton City's fashion stores.

Venue: Sandton City
Date: 24 - 26 October 2008
Time: 12h30 - 13h30 daily

One of SA's favourite designers, and increasingly the milliner du jour on the international fashion scene, Albertus Swanepoel's star shines ever brighter.

Currently featured in the November issue of American Vogue, New York-based Albertus, who has also been an avid supporter of SSAFW over the past twelve years and who currently works with a crafter group based in Tshwane, is profiled for the exceptional achievement of being handpicked as one of only ten finalists competing for the prestigious grant and mentorship award from the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) and Vogue's Fashion Fund, annually earmarked for exceptional rising talents.

Former SSAFW programme director and a regular draw card on the Arts & Culture Fashion Seminar programme, Dion Chang, has, following the success of the multi-topic FLUX TREND REVIEW CONFERENCE last year, turned the trend conference concept into a trend book, which will be launched at Exclusive Books, Mandela Square on Wednesday, 22 October 2008.

The book has already made it onto "The List" - Exclusive Books' end of year list of recommended reading, as it is already been anticipated as an indispensable guide to trends affecting our lives.

The 2009 Flux Trend Review is available at Exclusive Books branches across the country.
